Bog Blackberry, Rubus hispidus, is sometimes called Trailing Dewberry. It is a low growing, vining bog plant with small, white flowers and small, edible fruit. The leaves are dark green with 3 lobes and toothed margins on red stems with dense, fine bristles. Flowers in late summer are small, white with five petals. Fruit is small with 5-8 shiny, black lobes. It prefers the open areas of bogs, and can be a rapid grower, forming dense networks of intertwining vines, 4 ft (1m) long. It can crowd an area, if not trimmed and controlled. It develops red leaves in the Fall, and is winter hardy. Water with rain/distilled water. It is a curious and interesting bog plant, and makes an attractive ground cover with fruit.

For Bog Blackberry, each portion is a rooted, growing plant.
